I have been doing CrossFit since April of 2013. I started CrossFit because I was getting bored in the "Globo Gym" and wanted something new. My first WOD kicked my butt and I fell in love with it and never looked back. CrossFit was therapeutic for me and helped get through so much in my life. Through CrossFit I was able to find my love and excitement for my career as a Firefighter. Without CrossFit, I feel like the process of getting hired and the physical demands of the job would have been so much harder for me. CrossFit has made it possible for me to use my fitness outside of the gym, I know whatever challenge I decide to take on that I will push through it without a doubt. CrossFit has so many benefits besides making someone physically fit, it makes you mentally tough as well and that is amazing!

I love being a coach! To me, health and fitness is one of the most valuable things we have in life. We only have one body and one life to live and being healthy makes it possible to live the exciting life we want! Being a coach is so much more than helping people do movements correctly and safely. It has led me to lifelong relationships and helping people take their health into their own hands and live their best life outside of the gym. Thank you for letting me be your coach!

Favorite movement: any type of lifting! But, if I had to choose one, it would be the Snatch!

Favorite WOD: any Hero WOD because of the sacrifice others have made for us. My favorite Hero WOD would have to be DT.

I started CrossFit 1/2015 because it looked like an adult playground!

Why: People come to CrossFit because they want to improve. These people want to put in the effort but need some guidance. There is nothing better than helping people who are helping themselves! When a push or a cue helps someone accomplish something they are proud of we create a win!!

Favorite movement: Snatch! It’s a beautiful thing when strength, mobility, timing, speed, technique and mindset come together!

Favorite WOD: Still to be determined :)

I have been doing Crossfit since February of 2012. At the time my only means of exercise was running and I realized I didn’t enjoy it! I needed variety!!! A friend took me to my first CrossFit class and I was immediately hooked! I loved how demanding the workouts were and how there was always something new to learn and develop. It was that craving to get better that first made me interested in coaching. I loved working hard to achieve new skills and goals and was constantly looking for new ways to do things and people to do them with! Coaching allowed me to do that! I love helping people do things they never thought was possible!

Favorite movement: anything gymnastics…probably handstand push-ups or bar muscle ups!

Favorite WOD: Fran!!!! FEEL THE BURN! LOL!

I’ve been doing CrossFit for 6 years and coaching CrossFit for 3 years. Before CrossFit I was the normal Globo gym guy but as soon as I found Olympic weightlifting movements In CrossFit I was hooked and loved it ever since. I get a great amount of joy out of coaching when a member I have been helping makes a successful lift they had doubt about or accomplish a task they thought was impossible for them to achieve.

Favorite movement: Squat Clean

Favorite WOD: the hero workout called PK
5 Rounds
10 BackSquats (225/155)
10Deadlifts (275/185)
400m run

My CrossFit journey began in 2009 at CrossFit Omaha in Nebraska. I was at the point where my US Air Force uniform barely fit me and I was getting winded walking up a flight a of stairs. I walked into CrossFit Omaha and told owner, Ricky Frasto not to let me leave until I signed up. I loved every second of it ever since. I do CrossFit to personally see improvements in my fitness and to help expand this great community.  When the call went out in 2011 for volunteers to begin a Functional Fitness-based program for Offutt AFB, I jumped at the chance to help. What we started became CrossFit Team Offutt Tactical Fitness. Luckily, I was able to continue that love of coaching here in AZ, for CrossFit Flex, and be the lead programmer for Joint Strike CrossFit on Luke AFB.

I continue to coach because I love helping people continue their fitness journey.  I love seeing change, even the most minuscule, in an athlete and the reaction they have.  Knowing that I am helping making people stronger, fitter, harder to kill, means the world to me.

Favorite movement: Power Snatch and Double Unders

Favorite WOD: “Elizabeth” 21-15-9: Cleans (135), Ring Dips

Tidbits and Thoughts: I started CrossFit  in 2013 as a way to get better at my overall fitness. It was such an amazing and eye opening journey. Very quickly I felt like I was part of something much bigger than myself. I saw all these amazing people around me accomplishing so many things that they never thought they could. I decided that I wanted be an even more positive influence in these athletes journey, so I became a CrossFit trainer in 2015.

I started CrossFit in 2016. Prior to starting CrossFit, I did Zumba, Body Pump, and even got on the Beach Body train. In 2014, I was introduced to Olympic lifting and was hooked! It wasn’t until my family moved to Kansas in 2016, that I entered my first CrossFit gym. I immediately fell in love. It reminded me of the competitive side of group sports that I had been missing from high school. As my love for CrossFit grew, it became more than just a gym. It was a community that embraced everyone, that came together to support one another, much like a family. As a military spouse, I loved finding a home away from home.

CrossFit has helped me grow as a person and has helped me mentally. It became my happy place as I have struggled with depression and my health for a while. When I was younger, I was diagnosed with Chronic Asthma Disease and as an adult, I was diagnosed with COPD.

In 2017, I became a CrossFit coach and a CrossFit kids coach at Junction City CrossFit. In 2020, after my husband retired from the Army, my family moved to Arizona. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to be able to continue my coaching career here at CrossFit Flex! When I became a Coach, I wanted to help all age groups, adults, teens, and kids, and show them what physical fitness could bring to their lives. I wanted to help them understand that you CAN lift heavy, build muscles, jump on high boxes and do handstand holds without fear! Doing hard things in the gym translates to outside of the gym, preparing you for the unknown in your everyday life.

Favorite movement : Anything with a barbell

Favorite WOD : Filthy Fifty

Having participated in sports (basketball, cross country, track and field, soccer) from elementary school through college, one of the things I missed the most was the energy and camaraderie felt by being on a team, and the amazing support received throughout my career in sports. In 2016, at 45 years old, I found it again through Crossfit and the Crossfit community.

I have been coaching CrossFit since 2018, which has been an amazing opportunity for me. I LOVE helping people work towards being their best self. What I came to realize during this time was that no matter how hard or how much you workout, what happens in the kitchen is what is going to help you reach your goals to be the healthiest version of yourself. Finding a balance of both that works for you can be empowering!

My goal has always been to try and be a positive influence in the lives of others, and I feel I am able to do that as a Crossfit/Nutrition Coach!

I am so grateful that I get to be a part of the CrossFit Flex family! The CrossFit community is like no other.

FAVORITE MOVEMENT: Power Cleans

FAVORITE WOD: Grace (or anything without deadlifts haha)
